Little Miss Sunshine

Rating: 5.0
Genre: COMEDY

OK this has to be one of the funniest movies that I have seen since Sordid Lives.  I am not sure exactly which scene I found the funniest.  The dead grandpa, the horn, or failed clutch.  To say this in just a few words and not give away any of the movie I will say, if you don't laugh then there is at least one thing wrong with you and that is you have no sense of humor or that you were raised in so shu-shu house and do not get the white trash humor displayed.  All I can say is go buy, go rent it, watch it on HBO, but really you have to see this movie!

Superman Returns

Rating: 4.5
Genre: ACTION, DRAMA

WOW have I neglected this post. I promise to do better.

Superman Returns is one of the best movies I have seen in a while. It didn't try to change Superman into so bad as kick butt guy. We already know that. He was still a little corny, still a little hokey. You know what, I like my Superman that way. He was raised on a farm for pete's sake what do you want him to act like, a gangsta thug, that is not a middle class, white guy from Kansas.

I think it was a good telling of a story that we had NOT already seen twice over hint hint Batman Begins!

John Q

RATING: 3
GENRE: DRAMA, THRILLER

This is a film about the lack of health care to about 40 million American citizens. In the film a child about 13, has critical heart failure, due to enlargement of the heart. John Quincy Archibald (Denzel Washington) tries every avenue that he can to get things to work; the procedure costs about $250,000 dollars and his insurance will not cover it as it is considered 'elective' surgery. Upon doing some reading in most cases this is true. Heart replacement surgery is elective even if it is the only way. I think is this crazy, but I digress. In the film Dezel flips out and takes the emergency room hostage and decides to force them to get a heart for his son. Now there are TWO things wrong with this picture. 1. The fact that violence to solve a death of one person is NOT acceptable; the people he took hostages (aside from the doctor) were just innocent people, many of them hurt and wounded. 2. like there would just be the perfect hear lying around somewhere. Which in the film a lady just happen to get hit by a Mack truck, which consequently is very funny because she caused it herself by being a bitch but that is another story, the point is this film was good in theory but it really just doesn't make sense.

Wrap up - Kid lives, Denzel goes to prison.

200 American

RATING: 2.5
GENRE: Drama, Gay, Romance

This is a horrible movie about a hustler from Aussie that, meets a guy in advertising and then falls in love with his Boss. It was just a bit too fake and the acting was very very bad. The only redeeming quality is the black girl in the elevator as it breaks down saying "Hey, there will be no yelling in here becasue it is just to close in here and I will freak the fuck out." Then they have a wonderful conversation about how the Dali Lama is Lorenzo Lamas grandad. That is some funny shit. Too bad the rest of the movie wasn't. I have to say 200 American, it was barely worth the rental fee.
