Gumballs that is. I can't ask for money for the ride at work so instead I have sat a gumball machine on my desk and let everyone know that all the money that is inserted will be used for the SMART Ride, people have stopped putting in pennies and started using quarters!

Well it looks as though my friends have started pulling through. I currently have $230.00 donated. That leaves me still needing $970.00 to raise. I am starting to feel good about the ride and the realization that it will be here soon!

Well the first trianing ride is over. I rode up A1A from Hillsboro Beach to Lucerne Avenue in Lake Worth and back, the total trip was about 50 miles. So There we have it the first training ride was 55 miles and that is a good start to this event. I rode with the person that I am dating right now and he was able to keep up. The ride took about 4 hours and we maintained a good speed of 20 miles an hour. There were of course breaks and stops in there. The wind was out of the east and gust upwards of 15 miles an hours so that was the biggest challenge. Here is to the next ride which will be Sunday January 7th, 2007.
